We began with a simple yet extraordinary pasta with tomato, mozzarella, and basil—a dish so perfectly balanced and flavorful it set the tone for the evening. For the main course, we enjoyed braised pork with peas and roasted pork ribs with olives, both prepared with remarkable depth and tenderness. Dessert was a silky pistachio panna cotta, the perfect sweet finish to an unforgettable meal. The house Sangiovese red wine complemented every course beautifully. Service was delightfully prompt and genuinely friendly, adding to the warm, welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommended—Rusticanella 2 is a true culinary gem in Lucca, offering authentic flavors, heartfelt hospitality, and a dining experience to remember."

"Very rustic, small space, lots of local dishes, very helpful and friendly staff. Table turnover is quite swift, lots of families and small groups having a quick meal, not rushed but easily out within 90 minutes. Would definitely visit again, but may not recommend to our friends who prefer something close to a fine dining experience. But if you like local & rustic it’s worth it."

"We ordered three pizzas; the Bomb pizza was a bit spicy and had a lot of different meats, and they added truffle to the Margherita at our request. Although the indoor seating area looked cramped, it was clearly warm and inviting. We chose to sit outside on the street and it was very pleasant. The only problem was the cashier was very angry. It's worth mentioning that our English is good and we never usually have these kinds of problems, and we remained calm in this instance, but shouting and fussing while we're paying is completely unacceptable."

"Very satisfied with the service and food. My favorite restaurant in Lucca! I can recommend the beef in red wine, it was magnificent! We ordered a bottle of wine, 1 starter, 2 main courses and 2 desserts. Mostly Italian people around us!"

"This place was great! Warm cozy vibes and delicious food make this place great for a late dinner. We stopped by early in the afternoon and were told they had no more availability but that we could come back later to see if anyone dropped their reservation. We returned and were able to be seated! We order anchovies and mushroom bruschettas, Lasagna, Torrdelli Lucchese, beef stew, and ended with a pistachio pana cotta. For me the lasagna was the standout! We only had one night in Lucca and we were so happy to get the chance to try this place out!"

"Rusticanella 2 – Lucca If you want a truly authentic Italian experience, this is the place — tiny, charming, and full of tradition (maybe a little too full). The food is great, but don’t you dare try to change anything on the menu! I witnessed one of the funniest moments ever: an elderly American man asked to mix his pasta with sausages… and the waiter looked like he’d just committed a culinary crime. They made him wait 30 minutes for his second course as punishment from the gods of Italian cuisine. I couldn’t stop laughing! Don’t get me wrong — I love traditions. But sometimes, a little flexibility wouldn’t hurt. Tourists keep these places alive! So if I feel like drinking a cappuccino with my spaghetti, please… let me live my international fantasy."

"Had a great experience at Rusticanella 2 da Luca. The pizza was really tasty, perfectly baked with fresh, flavorful ingredients and a delicious crust. Cozy little spot with a very authentic Tuscan vibe, and the staff were welcoming. A lovely place to stop for quality pizza while exploring Lucca. Desert was good too! Would definitely come back!"
